Potomac Community Village works to enhance the quality of life for all members of our community. Our network of neighbors and friends offers assistance with practical needs so that people can stay in their Potomac-area homes as they age while enjoying stimulating activities and new connections. Volunteers of all ages help with transportation, errand running, computer problems, simple home tasks, pet care and friendly phone calls. Members have access to our members-suggested contractor list and to our group access to Washington Consumers' CHECKBOOK.
PCV Safe Home : a new PCV program to help us all be safer at home as we age in place in our community has just been announced!
PCV Safe Home is a program for PCV members which offers a rebate for home safety improvements, such as grab bars, ramps and railings, for up to $100 or 50% of the cost, whichever is less. Read all about it here!
COVID-19 Update: As we have all moved into a time of very limited in-person gatherings, PCV has created new ways to offer programs that enable members to still be socially connected and mentally engaged.
We now Zoom with members, sometimes several times a week, and provide weekly updates about virtual classes, concerts, lectures and performances. Our tech volunteers still provide assistance with computer problems, though it’s now over the phone. We have several young volunteers who assist with grocery shopping and errand running. As has always been the case, the well-being of our Village community is our utmost priority. We’re checking in with members regularly. See below for a list of upcoming events.
We ask for your patience and understanding while we continue to adjust to what has become the “new normal.”
