All are welcome; with registration strongly encouraged, so we have enough seating and hand-outs.
Session 1 Topic: Basic introduction to websites and internet: what is a URL and how to navigate websites and get information needed, with emphasis for PCV members on how to use and navigate the PCV website
Session 2 Topic: Cybersecurity and computer security: Learn about how to protect yourself online and software tools to protect privacy Click here to register for Session 2, on April 8.
Session 3 Topic: Managing Your Files: How to get the most out of your computer operating system, including how to set up and move files, copy photos, etc. Click here to register for Session 3, on April 15.
About our speaker, Matthew Kaminski:
Mr. Kaminski has two years experience as a digital literacy tutor leading classes, including at the Benjamin Gaither Senior Center in Gaithersburg, and providing one-on-one tutoring about anything from smartphones to computer software. He currently works in a geriatric clinic and nursing home setting, which has given him the understanding needed of how to teach to this specific demographic. He says, "It’s been a passion of mine to help the elderly connect with their family through technology."
Members who need transportation should indicate that they need a ride when they register by setting the ride field to "need a ride". If you are able to offer a ride, please let us know that as well.
