What are the benefits of joining Potomac Community Village?

Note: All PCV activities now take place on zoom and includes zoom lectures, links to talks, other fun events, and exercise prorgams around town, such as those from Senior Planet. After the end of this pandemic, we will resume our "typical" activities as detailed below. Note that the book group is continuing now using zoom.

  • group trips to theaters, museums
  • concerts and sports events
  • car pooling arrangements
  • book group
  • fitness activities
  • gardening, and other small group activities, in response to member requests

We have a neighbor-suggested list of vendors as a service to our members, and offer a local vendor member-discount program. In addition, members have access to Washington Consumers' Checkbook.

We also arrange rides to medical appointments and other locations. Please read this document detailing our transportation procedures during the pandemic. We arrange for car pools to PCV events, provide computer fixes, help with your electronic devices, help with minor home repair services, provide friendly phone calls and visits as needed, and work with our Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services to provide Home Safety Inspections, all just for our standard members. Associate membership is for those who do not reside within our 20854 boundary. They can participate in many of the same activities as standard members, but cannot receive volunteer services, such as rides and in home help.

The fee for standard members is $100 for an Individual Membership and $150 for a Household Membership. For associate members (those residing outside of our 20854 service area), the fee is $50 for an Associate Individual Membership and $75 for an Associate Household Membership.

And access to our neighbor-suggested contractors and vendors, and Checkbook...

PCV offers our members direct access to a list of neighbor-suggested contractors and vendors - carpeting, electricians, iron work, lawn services, outdoor lighting, painters, piano tuners, plumbers, small and large renovations, roofers, snow clearing and leaf raking and stone work, are a few of them.  These are contractors and other vendors that our members and friends have happily used in the past few years and would suggest if a neighbor asked.

Note:  These contractors and vendors have NOT been vetted by Potomac Community Village. We have not determined if the same people are still at the named firms or if the firms named have been bought out by another company. Please use due diligence in evaluating any company mentioned in our neighbor-suggested list.  Members who want information about any of our suggested contractors and vendors should call the PCV Help Desk at 240-221-1370.

In addition, we now offer access to Washington Consumers' Checkbook through our Help Desk.
